The Youth Lock-in held at Mt. St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Md., November 12-13, drew more than 400 young people and youth leaders for a Christian fellowship and recreation all-nighter. Eighteen churches were represented.
Following worship led by Ray Valenzuela, youth pastor at the Hagerstown (Md.) church, the group went swimming and competed in games such as basketball, dodgeball, football, soccer and volleyball. Medals were given after each event.
The organized games are not only fun, they build character and develop good sportsmanship in the youth, says Carl Rodriguez, conference Youth Ministries director.
