Capital Brazilian Temple member Bruna Campos de Souza, pictured with her husband, Emerson, and their children, reconnected her mother, Luciana Campos de Souza, a resident of New Zealand, to church through live Internet streaming of worship services conducted at the Capital Brazilian Temple in Highland, Md.
Luciana Ferraz de Campos, a native of Brazil, recently returned to God and reconciled with her mother due to a sermon series streamed live on the Internet on Sabbath mornings from the Capital Brazilian Temple in Highland, Md.

Luciana’s parents separated when she was five years old. Soon after, her mother remarried and moved to a farm in the countryside leaving her three daughters, ages 14, 7 and 5 years old, living alone in the city. Her mother returned every few days to see her daughters. Luciana resented her mother's absence and her difficult childhood.

Luciana became a mother at 15, and at 16 she received Bible studies, accepted Jesus and was baptized. Later she became estranged from her mother.

Four years ago, Luciana moved to New Zealand. Her daughter and son-in-law, Bruna and Emerson Campos de Souza, who live in Maryland, attend the Capital Brazilian Temple. There is no Portuguese-language church for Luciana to attend in New Zealand, so Bruna encouraged her mother to follow Capital Brazilian Temple’s worship services online.

Luciana did and the Holy Spirit touched her heart to return to God and forgive her parents. She recently reconciled with her mother and spoke to her for the first time in 12 years.

The church began streaming services in 2009. Fritz Kolle, the church’s media director, says this ministry exists "in order to reach people in our heart to the heart of Jesus."

Last year during a youth evangelism effort, the church had more than 40 sites connected each night. At one site, in Ceará, a northeastern state in Brazil, a group of 160 people viewed the preaching each night. Watch live at
