Chesapeake Conference teachers were recently able to receive COVID-19 vaccines through the help of Adventist HealthCare (Gaithersburg, Md.). At a time when vaccines were not easily accessible, Adventist HealthCare contacted the Chesapeake Conference education department about scheduling vaccinations for Chesapeake teachers.
“This was an answer to prayer for many,” says Janesta Walker, superintendent of schools for Chesapeake Conference. “Having the vaccine has helped our teachers feel safer as they enter their classrooms to provide face-to-face instruction for their students. The safety and well-being of our educators is of utmost concern to us in the Chesapeake Conference, and we are so grateful to Adventist HealthCare for helping us protect them and give them a sense of confidence as they minister to our kids.”
Chesapeake teachers expressed their gratitude to Adventist HealthCare in a thank you video released this week.
“Thank you Adventist HealthCare,” says Lynette Sigh, teacher at Spencerville Adventist Academy (Silver Spring, Md.). “Thank you for going the extra mile for the teachers.”
