Highland View Academy (Hagerstown, Md.) hosted an online music festival and virtual academy days from March 25 to March 27. Prospective students were able to participate in online tours where current HVA students acted as virtual tour guides, showing participants around campus and answering questions.
“Our virtual academy days event had a good turnout,” says Mandy Corea, campus ministries director for Highland View Academy. “It was a different way of interacting, but it allowed us to be able to provide information in a more creative way, as well as take students through our campus from a bird’s eye view.”
The online music festival debuted on Thursday evening and featured a compilation of musical selections performed by students of Chesapeake Conference schools from the recent past.
“Schools were invited to send videos of their music performances; some schools recorded video performances just for the event and others shared videos from previous performances,” says David Nino, music director for Highland View Academy. “The virtual music festival was just a glimpse of how much talent we have among students and teachers in the Chesapeake Conference. At HVA, we are happy to host them once a year. We look forward to being back in person in 2022″
