The Frederick Adventist Academy (FAA) Home and School Association expressed gratitude to FAA’s teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week from May 3 to 7 by providing staff with daily reminders that their dedication to students during the COVID-19 pandemic was valued.
On Monday, lunch was provided to teachers and staff from Silver Diner. Tuesday was a “spa-tacular” day, as volunteers supervised students during lunch while the teachers got seated massages. On Wednesday, FAA staff were sent a link to order a snack from Sonic to enjoy during staff meeting. The staff was given a gift card to stream a movie and select five movie-time snacks on Thursday. On Friday, the teachers and staff were provided breakfast with a sweet treat.
Throughout Teacher Appreciation Week, FAA students wrote thank you messages to teachers and staff on sticky notes and posted them on a decorated wall in the school hallway.
“Knowing that the parents and community planned such a thoughtful week for our teachers reminds us of the value of our school community,” says Megan Cook, FAA teacher. “Those tokens of appreciation were so appreciated as we continue to support our students.”
