“Just Ask…Radical Prayer for the Harvest” was the theme of a conference-wide prayer event held January 13-14 at Atholton church in Columbia, Md. Derek Morris, president of Hope Channel and author of the bestselling book The Radical Prayer, was the keynote speaker.
“When you pray in the name of Jesus, standing under His authority and surrendered to His will, miracles happen,” he told the congregation. Then he shared the conversion story of Yasmin, the daughter of an orthodox Muslim family in Kolkata, India, who began Bible studies at a nearby Adventist church because they offered free lunch.
Breakout sessions covering topics such as praying for loved ones, praying during tough circumstances, creative ways to engage the whole family in prayer, and starting a prayer ministry were among those offered.
“The weekend was incredibly refreshing. To hear all the exciting stories of how God is working makes you want to be a part of it,” says attendee Jerry Wilson, a member of the Park church in Salisbury, Md.
