Atholton Church Hosts ‘Fiercely Faithful’ Children’s Series
The annual children’s evangelistic series was held from Sept. 26-30.

The Atholton church in Columbia, Md., recently wrapped up its annual children’s evangelistic series, titled “Firecly Faithful,” which ran from Sept. 26-30. The event, which took place outdoors under a tent on the church lawn, aimed to foster deeper connections within the community and strengthen children’s relationship with God.
Gerry Lopez, associate Children’s Ministries director for the North American Division, was the series’ featured speaker, captivating attendees with the help of his puppet companions, Carlito, Surfer Tim, and George. On Sabbath morning, two child speakers, Sam Da Costa and Amira Pothumudi, also shared messages.
In an effort to foster community relationships and raise awareness on various fronts, special presentations were given by representatives from the Fire Department, K-9 unit, Military, and Health ministries.
The impact of the series was profound, as several children expressed a desire to be baptized. Anastacia Ferguson, Atholton associate pastor, reflected on the significance of the series, stating, “This series provided a great opportunity for children from Atholton church and school to be blessed by Christ-centered child-friendly messages designed to deepen their relationship with God.” She added, “It was exciting to see the children so deeply engaged in the messages and connect with members of our community. For me, it was the joy in their eyes as they said ‘yes’ to Jesus.”
