Baltimore White Marsh Church Celebrates International Day

White Marsh, Md. — Members of the Baltimore White Marsh church in White Marsh, Md., filled their sanctuary with flags, music, and traditional dress from around the world on Aug. 8 during International Day, a Sabbath celebration honoring the congregation’s global membership and the Global Adventist Movement.
The church, whose members trace their roots to nations across Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, Asia, and Europe, built the day around the theme “Celebrating Our Global Church: One Faith, Many Cultures, One Family.” Flags representing member countries lined the platform, and worshippers wore traditional garments reflecting their heritage throughout the service.
Pastor Elvis Mogoi delivered the sermon, titled “Join the Flying Angels,” drawing on the three angels’ messages of Revelation 14 to call members to carry the gospel to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people. Children, teens, and adults took turns at the pulpit throughout the program, offering readings, testimonies, and musical selections in a mix of languages and styles.
Organizers said the annual observance is meant to highlight the diversity of the Baltimore White Marsh congregation while reinforcing its unity in mission and faith.
The service closed with the church’s leadership encouraging members to continue building relationships across cultural lines throughout the year, not only on International Day.
