Catoctin View Church’s ‘Spring Fest’ draws hundreds over Memorial Day weekend

The event featured a 150-foot-long “bubble slide.”

Catoctin View Church drew hundreds of community members to its two-day “Spring Fest” event over Memorial Day weekend on May 26 and 27.

The highlight of the event was what is believed to be Maryland’s largest “bubble slide,” which stretched over 150 feet. The massive slide was visible from miles away and served as a major draw for attendees.

In addition to the bubble slide, the festival featured a variety of attractions, including a reptile exhibit, swimming pools, bounce houses, and diverse food offerings. The event also provided a platform for several Pathfinder clubs to raise funds for the upcoming Pathfinder Camporee in Gillette, Wyoming, this summer.

The festival also included a special Memorial Day commemoration. A band performed the songs of all the military branches, prompting veterans to stand and be recognized when their respective branch’s song was played.

Pastor Cesar Gonzalez emphasized the importance of the event for community engagement. “The day was a way to let the community know that we’re here,” Gonzalez said. “It provided an opportunity to meet new people and have meaningful conversations.”
