Chelsy Tyler Commissioned to the Gospel Ministry

  • News

Tyler was commissioned at the New Hope church on Dec. 2.

Chelsy Tyler, pastor for Student and Volunteer Ministries at the New Hope (Fulton, Md.) church was commissioned to the gospel ministry on Sabbath, Dec. 2, during a special afternoon service.

Tyler has served at the New Hope church for the past four years and previously pastored in Arlington, Texas.

Tyler’s calling to ministry began in her high school years, teaching in her church’s youth Sabbath School class. This early involvement in her local church sparked a passion for deepening her understanding of God and assisting others in their spiritual journey. Through the encouragement of mentors and peers, she realized her true calling was in pastoral ministry.

Reflecting on her journey and recent commissioning, Tyler shared her thoughts: “In the daily grind of ministry, it can be easy to lose sight of God’s call on my life. My commissioning reminded me of God’s initial purposes for me, reinspiring me to keep at it,” she said. “I was also very touched by the love and support of my community near and far coming together to affirm me.”
