Chesapeake Conference hosts first Proclaim evangelism module of 2025
Year-long training program equips pastors and lay leaders for public evangelism

Chesapeake Conference held the first Proclaim Evangelism Module of 2025 on March 2–3 at the conference office, bringing together pastors and lay leaders for intensive training in public proclamation evangelism.
The module focused on creating a culture of evangelism and featured presentations by Eric Flickinger, associate speaker for It Is Written; David Klinedinst, the conference’s Evangelism and Church Growth director; and Javier Scharon, pastor of Dover First Church.
Participants came not only from the Chesapeake Conference but also from New Jersey, Ohio, and the Allegheny West Conference.
The Proclaim Evangelism Modules are a year-long program designed to equip those who feel called to conduct evangelistic meetings and want to develop their skills in public outreach. The curriculum integrates public, personal, and creative approaches to evangelism.
Klinedinst said the program is intentionally kept small so that participants can engage deeply with the material and with one another. “This is not a requirement. It’s not open to everybody. They are personally invited so that it’s a small group where you can connect more,” he said. “To see them committed to coming in regularly and just being engaged all day long with the process is always good to see.”
