Chesapeake Conference Installs Jenner Becerra as Pastor of Living Word Church in Glen Burnie

Members of Living Word Seventh-day Adventist Church in Glen Burnie, Maryland, welcomed Jenner Becerra as their new pastor during a special installation service on Sabbath, Aug. 1.

John Rengifo, ministerial director for the Chesapeake Conference, represented the conference and led the installation, urging Becerra to remain faithful to his calling as he begins his ministry at Living Word. Ordained elders and church leaders joined Rengifo on the platform, gathering around Becerra, his wife, Oksana, and their young son to pray for the family.

“One of the privileges of what I do is seeing the joy and excitement of installing and introducing a new pastor to their church,” Rengifo said. “The welcome of the Living Word Church for Pastor Jenner and his family was unlike anything I’ve ever seen.”

Becerra addressed the congregation from the pulpit with a message titled “Knowing,” proposing that “the knowledge of God is the most important thing we can ever achieve.” He welcomed members and encouraged them to embrace the mission ahead together. Balloons, banners, and a mural reading “Welcome to Living Word Family” decorated the church as members gathered to worship and celebrate the occasion.

Following the morning worship service, the congregation moved to the fellowship hall for a potluck luncheon. Families gathered around tables filled with food, and the fellowship gave members an opportunity to personally welcome Becerra, Oksana, and their son to the Living Word family.
