Chesapeake Conference schools welcome students back for 2024-25 year
Students returned to classrooms with excitement and anticipation.

The new school year has officially kicked off in Chesapeake Conference as students returned to class on Monday, Aug. 19. In Maryland, Delaware, and West Virginia, students eagerly filed into the conference’s 10 schools, ready to begin the 2024-2025 academic year.
The excitement was palpable as students reconnected with friends and met new classmates. Teachers, staff, pastors, and conference officials were on hand to welcome them back, creating a warm and supportive atmosphere that set the tone for the year ahead.
“It was exciting to see so many children and youth across this conference going to their classrooms, many returning for another year and some for the very first time in an Adventist school,” said Jerry Lutz, Chesapeake Conference president, who visited Wilmington Junior Academy in Delaware on the first day. “Let’s pray daily for our students, our school’s faculty, and staff, that this will be a blessed year for all.”
The 10 schools in the Chesapeake Conference include Atholton Adventist Academy, Baltimore White Marsh Adventist School, Dover First Christian School, Frederick Adventist Academy, Friendship Adventist School, Highland View Academy, Mt. Aetna Elementary School, Rocky Knoll School, Spencerville Adventist Academy, and Wilmington Junior Academy.
