Chesapeake Conference welcomes Katya Medrano as new executive assistant

Medrano will provide support for several conference departments.

Chesapeake Conference recently welcomed Katya Medrano to its office staff, where she will take on the role of executive assistant for several departments, including Secretariat and Human Resources, Planned Giving and Trust Services, and Adventist Community Services.

Bringing a rich background from her previous position as a program manager at a community clinic, Medrano has substantial experience in administration and community service. In her former role, she was responsible for overseeing an afterschool program designed for high school students.

Medrano is an active member of the Washington Spencerville Spanish church in Ashton, Md., dedicating her time as the youth ministry leader and demonstrating a deep commitment to the values and mission of the church.

Andre Hastick, Chesapeake Conference executive secretary, expressed enthusiasm about Medrano’s appointment, noting her extensive experience and dedication. “Katya comes to us with a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to the mission of the church,” Hastick said. “Her background in administrative work and her dedication to serving in the church make her an excellent fit for this multifaceted role. Katya’s organizational skills, attention to detail, and passion for our shared mission will be truly valuable assets to our team.”

Medrano expressed enthusiasm about her new role working for the Seventh-day Adventist Church, saying she is eager to contribute to the church’s mission and is looking forward to gaining deeper insights into its operations at the conference level. 

Outside of her professional and ministry endeavors, Medrano enjoys hiking, reading, and trying new foods.
