Chesapeake Prayer Wall Surpasses 500 Names in First Week

  • News

The Chesapeake Conference of Seventh-day Adventists launched a new online prayer wall, Chesapeakeprays.org, and collected more than 500 names in its first week as part of the conference’s participation in the North American Division’s “All Things New” initiative.

The web-based tool invites the conference’s 19,022 members to submit the first name of someone they want prayed for. Chesapeake Conference designed the wall to protect privacy: only a first name and the name of the person submitting the request appear publicly, while the full context of each need remains between the submitter and God.

The prayer wall centers on three focus areas: renewed hearts, transformed lives, and accepting Jesus through baptism.

André Hastick, president of the Chesapeake Conference, who conceived the project, said how prayer is important for our churches:

“Prayer is vital for every spiritual transformation of the heart,” Hastick said. “Jesus prayed for us, and we have the privilege to join in prayer for souls to be brought to the Lord through this special mission emphasis.”

Conference leaders are asking churches across its territory to feature the prayer wall at every event and to encourage members to add names during church gatherings, so congregations can regularly hold up the growing list in prayer.

Members can view the names already submitted or add their own request at ChesapeakePrays.org.
