Chesapeake STEM Coordinator Presented With Zapara EXSEED STEM Teaching Excellence Award

Ophelia Barizo, STEM coordinator for Chesapeake Conference, was presented with the first Zapara EXSEED Award for Teaching Excellence during the worldwide virtual Loma Linda University Excellence in STEM Experiential Education (EXSEED) Conference on June 24. The award was presented to Barizo by Ron Carter, provost of Loma Linda University and co-exeuctive director of EXSEED.
 
“It was a total surprise but a pleasant one,” says Barizo. “It is also very humbling. I am thankful to God, and to Him be the glory.”
