The MOT (Townsend, Del.)  and Life in Christ (Bear, Del.) churches recently welcomed Akeem James as their new pastor.

James, who received his Master of Divinity from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary in 2017, has run an independent ministry called Ultimate Cry for several years that has led him to travel extensively across the country, sharing his passion for evangelism and preaching. For the past two years, he has served as the lay pastor of the Padena (Md.) church.

Eli Rojas, Ministerial director for the Chesapeake Conference, believes that James is a great fit for his new congregations. “He comes with experience because of the passion he has for ministry,” said Rojas. “He has taken every opportunity possible to serve God’s people. He will be a blessing to his churches.”

James expressed an eagerness to begin serving his new district. He was heartened by the warm welcome he received from both congregations and is enthusiastic about finding innovative ways to serve.

“I’m looking forward to just connecting with the churches, connecting with the leadership, practicing the principles that God laid down of mingling and connecting, and then seeking to influence change [in the community] by God’s grace,” James said.
