Hagerstown Church Hosts Splash Bash for Community

  • News

Hagerstown, Md. — The Hagerstown Seventh-day Adventist Church hosted its Splash Bash for the community on Sunday, August 23, from 1 to 4 p.m. Weather forced organizers to postpone the event from its original date, but roughly 300 people still turned out for an afternoon of fun.

Mega Waterslides drew thrill seekers of all ages down the church’s hillside, the event’s most popular attraction.

Volunteers served free food and ran water games throughout the afternoon, and guests found plenty of opportunities to connect with neighbors.

The church’s Community Connections booth shared information about the congregation, Pathfinders, and Adventurers, and it introduced visitors to the church’s upcoming Car Show on October 4, featuring John Earnhardt and his meetings.

Guests could enter drawings for a copy of Desire of Ages and four tickets to a Meritus Park baseball game, and they could sign up for Bible studies and pick up a free sample.

Pastor Roger Larsen called the event a meaningful outreach opportunity. “Splash Bash gave the church a wonderful opportunity to welcome neighbors, build relationships, and share what the church has to offer the community,” Larsen said.
