Hispanic Ministries Online Evangelistic Campaigns Result in 27 Baptisms

Recently, the Hispanic Ministries department of the Chesapeake Conference conducted two online evangelistic campaigns utilizing Facebook, Zoom and YouTube. Ruben Ramos, vice president for Multilingual Ministries for the Columbia Union, directed the Eastern Shore online gathering themed “Rescued by His Blood.” Additionally, guest speaker Elmer Alferez, who serves as a pastor in the Texas Conference, led out in the Baltimore-Columbia online gathering themed, “Free.” About 500 devices in total connected with the virtual gatherings. By the end of the series, 27 people made the decision for baptism.
“The gospel has no limits or borders,” says Francisco Julca Cruz, pastor for the New Castle (Del.), Wilmington (Del.) and Providence (Elkton, Md.) Spanish churches. “In the midst of the pandemic, people turn their eyes to God. We must proclaim that Christ is coming.”
