Burns comes to Chesapeake Conference from the Holbrook Indian School in Arizona.

Chesapeake Conference recently welcomed Jessica Burns as a new assistant treasurer. In her new role, one of her primary responsibilities will be to oversee payroll for the conference’s hourly employees.

Burns comes to Chesapeake Conference most recently from the Holbrook Indian School in Arizona, where she worked for the past four years at various times as an accountant and business manager.

A graduate of Southern Adventist University with a degree in Accounting, Burns says she has always desired an opportunity to work for the Seventh-day Adventist Church and says she is passionate about using her skills to support and further the work of mission.

Eduardo Munoz, Chesapeake Conference treasurer, expressed enthusiasm for Burns’ appointment. “We welcome Jessica to our conference team. We know with her skill, experience, creativity, and dedication, she will make a great contribution to the mission and ministry of this conference,” he stated.

Burns boasts an adventurous side. She recently hiked 250 miles of the Appalachian Trail, from Springer Mountain in Georgia to Hot Springs, North Carolina, mostly traveling alone. A devoted hiker, she describes the experience as both challenging and exhilarating.

When she’s not managing accounts or trekking trails, Burns can be found absorbed in a book or honing her sewing skills. With her diverse interests and dedication, Burns is a welcomed addition to the Chesapeake Conference team.
