Kenneth Scheller, Retired Longtime Eastern Shore Pastor, Passes Away
Scheller was the longtime pastor of the Park and Seaford churches on the Eastern Shore.

Kenneth Scheller, a retired pastor whose ministry was a staple on the Eastern Shore for decades, passed away to his rest earlier this week. Scheller was 93 years old.
Scheller began his ministry on the Eastern Shore in 1988 as a pastor of the Federalsburg and Seaford churches in Delaware. After conference redistricting in 1989, Scheller began pastoring a newly-formed district consisting of the Seaford and Park (Salisbury, Md.) churches, where he would continue to serve in various ministry capacities for the rest of his life.
Scheller retired from full-time pastoral ministry in 2000 but came out of retirement in 2006 to pastor the district again. After his second retirement in 2014, Scheller continued to serve as an active member of the Seaford church, preaching at the church as recently as June.
Prior to his ministry on the Eastern Shore, Scheller worked for the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in the transportation department. He also previously served as a missionary to Palau.
“Pastor Scheller is exemplary of a lifelong commitment to faithful service to the Lord and to His people. To the very end, even in the recent years of his retirement from full-time ministry, Elder Scheller was truly dedicated to doing what the Lord called him to do decades ago,” said Jerry Lutz, Chesapeake Conference president.
Lutz continued: “Chesapeake will be forever grateful for his many years of caring, pastoral leadership, especially on the Eastern Shore. He will be missed until we meet again when Jesus returns.”
A memorial service will be held at the Park Seventh-day Adventist Church in Salisbury, Md., on Oct. 29 at 1:00 p.m. Sympathy cards can be sent to Scheller’s wife, Carolyn: 36469 Brittingham Rd / Delmar, DE, 19940.
