Marilyn Scott joins Bell Branch, Pasadena as associate pastor

  • News

Scott has pastored in Chesapeake Conference for the past 14 years at the New Hope and Spencerville churches.

Longtime Chesapeake Conference pastor Marilyn Scott is transitioning to a new ministry role.

In March, Scott was welcomed as the new associate pastor for Children’s and Family Ministries for the Bell Branch (Gambrills, Md.) and Pasadena church district. In addition to her primary responsibilities in her new churches, Scott will also collaborate with the Chesapeake Conference Children’s Ministries Department to develop resources and training for churches around the conference.

Scott has served as the Children’s Ministries pastor at New Hope Church in Fulton, Md., for the past seven years. Before coming to that position, she worked for seven years as an associate pastor at Spencerville Church in Silver Spring.

Scott said she was excited about the opportunity to develop a new children’s and family ministries program in her new district. “I look forward to building relationships and connecting kids and families to Christ in this new role. In the spirit of Ephesians 4:12, grow and equip the kids and families to live the gospel out in their homes and interactions throughout the week,” said Scott.

Bell Branch Church has experienced substantial growth in recent years, leading to the addition of many new families with young kids. Lead pastor Geoff Crowley said he looked forward to working closely with Scott to serve and grow the church community. “Pastor Marilyn has a sterling reputation for building thriving children’s ministries, and she brings years of pastoral experience with her to the Bell Branch/Pasadena district. We’re so excited to see how God will work through her,” said Crowley.
