PBE Conference Level Event Sees Seven Teams Advance to Union Level

  • News

Pathfinder Bible Experience tests young people’s knowledge of the Gospel of John.

On Feb. 18, 15 teams gathered at the Washington Ghanaian (Columbia, Md.) church to compete in the Pathfinder Bible Experience (PBE) conference level event. After previously advancing from the area level round, the Pathfinder teams spent the afternoon answering in-depth questions on the Gospel of John.

Seven of the 15 teams that participated scored higher than 90% and will advance to the union level event on March 11 at Blue Mountain Academy in Hamburg, Pa. The seven churches with teams that advanced were Atholton (2 teams), Martinsburg, Westminster, Triadelphia, Ellicott City, and Washington-Spencerville Spanish.

Kenia Reyes, Youth and Young Adult director for ChesapeakeConference, expressed her enthusiasm for the event’s success. “I was really blown away at how well our teams did! They were on it and worked so well together. Honestly, I feel motivated to study the next book alongside them for next year and see how well I do! Ultimately this is what PBE is all about! Getting motivated to study God’s Word and grow,” she said.

The Pathfinder Bible Experience is an annual event that challenges young people to memorize and study the Bible. It is designed to encourage young people to learn more about the Bible and build their faith.

As the PBE moves on to the union level event in March, these seven teams will have the opportunity to further their knowledge of the Gospel of John and try to advance to the North American Division PBE Finals in Tampa, Fla. taking place April 21-22.
