Beginning in 2019, Chesapeake has begun implementing and emphasizing a church planting strategy to reach the un-entered areas of our conference, named the 35 by 25 initiative, to plant 35 new churches by 2025. The population of the Chesapeake territory is approximately 7 million people. Right now we have approximately 90 churches, companies, and/or groups within Chesapeake Conference. The goal is to plant a church for every 50,000 people. To reach that goal, we need to have 140 churches in Chesapeake. This means we must plant 50 more churches. Below you will see a list of the top 30 places where we need to plant an Adventist church or ministry.
