Training focuses on empowering churches for effective evangelism

Leaders and members from Chesapeake Conference and beyond gathered at Ellicott City Church from Jan. 12-15 for ReCharge 2025, an intensive training event hosted by It Is Written. The event provided practical tools and spiritual renewal in preparation for the North American Division’s Pentecost 2025 initiative. Participants included pastors, elders, personal ministry leaders, lay leaders, and church members eager to enhance their outreach and discipleship efforts.

ReCharge offered top-tier training on topics essential to effective evangelism, including gaining Bible study interests, delivering impactful sermons, preparing for and conducting proclamation events, developing interests through visitation, and gaining decisions for baptism.

The event featured expert instruction from It Is Written trainers, including John Bradshaw, president of It Is Written; Eric Flickinger, associate speaker; Wes Peppers, evangelism director; and Douglas Na’a, director of SALT.

Attendee Jenner Becerra, who pastors the Prince Emanual All Nations and Prince Frederick churches, said he appreciated this year’s event. “ReCharge was a great experience,” Becerra said. “It was a quick refresher on the cycle of evangelism and evangelism in general, which is so needed for such a year with Pentecost 2025. Praise God for the inspiring messages to keep us going as leaders.”
