Ricardo Cala Ordained to the Gospel Ministry

Ricardo Cala was ordained to the gospel ministry at an ordination service at the Hope Community church in Bear, Del., on July 1. Cala serves as the pastor of the Hope Community church and as an associate pastor of the West Wilmington church.
Cala says that from the moment he responded to the call to ministry, his life took a purposeful turn. Over the past 10 years, he’s served in various ministry roles, engaging with diverse communities in multicultural churches. He says the experience has provided him with a deep understanding of the richness and beauty found in the diversity of God’s people. Cala is passionate about church planting and creating spaces for discipleship and growth.
Cala is joined in ministry by his wife, Taimara, who he describes as being a source of inspiration and strength for him. Together they have one son, Ricky.
“I am overflowing with joy and fulfillment as I reflect on my ordination, as it signifies a fresh chapter in my ministry journey,” Cala says. “It’s more than just a milestone; it’s a resounding invitation to carry on the compassionate and transformative work of Jesus, serving others and spreading His mission.”
