Rock Hall Church celebrates four years of Blessing Bag Program

Food pantry initiative continues to serve local families

Rock Hall Church on Maryland’s Eastern Shore recently celebrated the fourth anniversary of its Blessing Bag Program, a food pantry that has been addressing food insecurity in the local community since 2020. The program, which started as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, has grown into a vital resource for families in Rock Hall and the surrounding areas.

Initially, the church distributed food bags weekly from its front lawn to adhere to pandemic safety guidelines. Now, the program operates as a full-service pantry where families can visit each Tuesday to fill bags with groceries. Since 2022, the Blessing Bag Program has been in partnership with the Maryland Food Bank, expanding its reach and impact. The program, supported by grants, donations, and volunteers, continues to improve lives in the region.
