Salisbury churches partner for ‘Love is Here’ outreach

Bi-monthly projects aim to connect with the community ahead of ‘Pentecost 2025’ meetings

Four Chesapeake Conference churches in Salisbury, Md., are partnering for a community outreach initiative called “Love is Here” (“El Amor Llegó” in Spanish). Members from the Salisbury Spanish, Salisbury City Redención, Salisbury Haitian, and Beacon of Light churches are working together on bi-monthly outreach efforts designed to connect with their community in preparation for Pentecost 2025 evangelistic meetings.

The goal of the initiative is to raise awareness of the churches’ presence and share a message of hope and friendship.

Many outreach efforts so far have focused on warmly greeting people in public spaces and distributing care bags containing literature such as Steps to Christ and The Great Controversy (available in English, Spanish, and French), as well as church invitations, ministry information, and other small gifts. Invitations have also been shared for a public evangelistic series beginning in July.

In addition to street outreach, members have engaged in service-focused projects, such as offering local residents assistance with household chores.

Jean Pierre, pastor of the two Spanish-speaking churches and the Haitian church, says the project’s goal is simple: to make Jesus visible through loving action. “The main idea of this project is to be visible in the city of Salisbury, trying to share with others that ‘love is here’ for them,” he said.
