Students ‘Let It Shine’ at Music Fest 2023
The annual music festival was held from April 20-22 at Highland View Academy.
Over 200 students from seven schools participated in the Chesapeake Conference Music Festival held from April 20-22 at Highland View Academy in Hagerstown, Md. The participating schools included Atholton Adventist Academy (Columbia, Md.), Spencerville Adventist Academy (Md.), Dover First Christian School (Dover, Del.), Rocky Knoll Adventist School (Martinsburg, W.Va.), Mt. Aetna Adventist School (Hagerstown, Md.), Frederick Adventist Academy (Md.), and Highland View Academy.
Throughout the weekend, students from the various schools combined their musical talents to form ensembles for band, handbells, strings, and choir performances. The culmination of the event was a Sabbath afternoon concert held in the HVA gymnasium, which drew a maximum capacity audience, filling the space with energy and enthusiasm.
The music festival was organized by David Nino, HVA music director, who expressed his delight in bringing the event back for 2023. “It was great to retake the music festival in 2023. We felt the excitement of participants and clinicians…We hope to continue letting the light shine for the glory of God,” Nino said.
