Summer camp kicks off 75th anniversary season

The Chesapeake Conference summer camp season has begun with a promising start, as nearly 200 campers are expected to join the activities over the four-week camp period. This year, Mt. Aetna Camp proudly celebrates its 75th anniversary, marking a milestone that has inspired the camp staff to deliver an exceptional experience.
Campers at Mt. Aetna are engaging in a variety of activities, including horseback riding, canoeing, archery, white water rafting, rock climbing, and zip lining. This year also features a newly located Pioneer Village, where participants can immerse themselves in learning the life skills of early American pioneers. The Pioneer Village activities include candle making, butter churning, operating a two-man saw, and using draw knives on a shave horse.
The highlight of camp are the daily worships, which emphasize the theme “Rescued,” teaching campers about Jesus and the rescue He offers each of them from sin.
Shawn Paris, Camp Ministries director reported that campers and staff members have already made significant commitments to Christ. “The Chesapeake mission is moving forward through Camp Ministries,” Paris said.
