Two volunteer pastors leading congregations in Chesapeake Conference have passed away. Alan Cyr, the volunteer pastor of the Inwood (Gerrardstown, W.Va.) church, passed away on Dec. 27, and J.J.S. Moses, the volunteer pastor of the Calvary South Asian (Burtonsville, Md.) church, passed away on Jan. 7.

A service for Pastor Moses will be held on Friday, Jan. 14, at 11:00 a.m. at the Reaching Hearts International (Laurel, Md.) church.

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of these faithful men of God who, each in his own sphere of influence, provided outstanding pastoral leadership and care for two of our Chesapeake congregations,” says Jerry Lutz, Chesapeake Conference president. “They loved the Lord, loved their families, and loved the members of their churches. They will be greatly missed, but by the grace of God, we know we will see them again when Jesus returns. Our sympathies and prayers are with their wives and families during this difficult time.”
