Waldorf Church teams up with American Red Cross for community blood drive

Members provided refreshments and offered to pray with donors.

The Waldorf (Md.) church recently joined forces with the American Red Cross to conduct a community blood drive, the fifth such event the church has organized in recent years.

This collaboration witnessed active participation from the church members, who contributed by providing refreshments and offering to pray with the donors, leading to several meaningful conversations.

The blood drive aligns with the congregation’s broader philosophy of community engagement and service. According to Pastor Dan Darrikhuma, the goal is for the church to be recognized within the community as a beacon of service and a welcoming space for all. In pursuit of this mission, the church also extends its facilities to host community funerals at no cost, providing solace and a gathering place for families during times of loss and grief.
