Washington-Spencerville Korean Church Welcomes New Associate Pastor
Byoungmoon Kim will serve as the associate pastor for children and family ministries.

Pastor Byoungmoon Kim
Byoungmoon Kim was welcomed as the new associate pastor for children and family ministries at the Washington-Spencerville Korean (Silver Spring, Md.) church on August 7. Kim joins the pastoral staff after most recently serving as assistant to the pastor and youth pastor at the Andrews University Korean church in Berrien Springs, Michigan.
“My initial impression of the church was so much more than I expected,” says Byoungmoon Kim. “I am looking forward to partnering with church families to minister to the children.”
Kim holds a Master of Divinity degree from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary on the campus of Andrews University (Berrien Springs, Mich.). Kim is looking forward to ministering to both children of church families as well as children in the wider community through after-school care programs.
“I am very glad to have a children’s pastor,” says Young Yoon, senior pastor for the Washington-Spencerville Korean church. “Children’s ministry is very important for the kids and the parents. If we bring the children to Christ, then the parents also come to Christ. I am very thankful to have [Pastor Byoungmoon Kim] come to our church family.”
Kim is married to his wife, Sarah, and the couple has three children.
