Westminster Church Welcomes New Pastor Jeff Werda
Pastor Werda expressed his excitement for his new role.

Members of the Westminster church in Maryland welcomed Jeff Werda as their new pastor on Sept. 9. David Klinedinst, director of Evangelism and Church Growth for the Chesapeake Conference and a member of the Westminster congregation, introduced Werda and his wife, Rhonda, and led prayers for the couple, asking for blessings upon their new chapter of ministry.
Werda joins the Westminster congregation from Michigan, where he has spent the past year serving as a hospital chaplain at Covenant Health in Saginaw. Before his time in Michigan, Werda had a 20-year tenure as a pastor in the Iowa-Missouri Conference. He holds both a Doctor of Ministry (DMin) and a Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Andrews University.
“Pastor Werda’s considerable experience in both pastoral and chaplaincy ministry will be a real blessing to the members of the church and community,” said Jerry Lutz, Chesapeake Conference president. “His unique spiritual journey and personal testimony of the Lord’s leading in his life is a great source of encouragement and inspiration.”
Expressing enthusiasm about his new role, Werda said, “It is truly an honor to be called to serve the Westminster Seventh-day Adventist Church. My wife and I are excited to join our new church family in the life and work God has called us to in this part of His vineyard. We are anticipating great things!”
