Young People Get ‘Connected’ at Hispanic Youth Retreat

  • News

The retreat featured presentations from guest speaker Manny Cruz.

Over 120 young people convened at the Mt. Aetna Retreat Center from January 12-14 for Chesapeake Conference’s annual Hispanic Youth Retreat.

Themed “Connected,” the retreat aimed to inspire and engage youth and young adults through a series of messages, games, and activities to be more connected with God, their local church, and communities.

The retreat featured messages from Manny Cruz, director of Youth Ministries for the Arizona Conference, and previously associate director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries for the North American Division. Cruz also led a dynamic Q&A session, addressing various topics pertinent to young people today.

The three-day event was packed with diverse activities, including Bible games, arts and crafts, a talent show, and a scavenger hunt that fostered teamwork and relationship building. A highlight of the retreat was the closing session which included a season of prayer and call to action for young people to go back to their churches to lead and serve in their communities.
